TRAYVON MARTIN: NO GRAND JURY, ZIMMERMAN STARTS HIS OWN WEBSITE
There were a couple of new developments in the Trayvon Martin case yesterday. First, Florida state attorney Angela Corey decided not to send the case to a grand jury. Instead, the tough-talking prosecutor will continue to handle it herself. Then, George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch captain who shot the unarmed teenager, launched a website to break his silence and raise funds for his defense. On the therealgeorgezimmerman.com, Zimmerman said he launched the site "to ensure my supporters they are receiving my full attention without any intermediaries." Zimmerman continued, "On Sunday February 26th, I was involved in a life altering event which led me to become the subject of intense media coverage. As a result of the incident and subsequent media coverage, I have been forced to leave my home, my school, my employer, my family and ultimately, my entire life." Reaction to Zimmerman's comments was swift, with one person commenting on Facebook that "Trayvon Martin was forced to leave his life," followed by an epithet.
FACEBOOK BUYS INSTAGRAM…THOUGHTS??
Facebook announced yesterday that it will purchase the highly popular photo app Instagram for a whopping $1 billion in cash and stock. The deal is expected to close by June 30. “Now, we'll be able to work even more closely with the Instagram team to also offer the best experiences for sharing beautiful mobile photos with people based on your interests,” Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in his Facebook post announcement. The 18-month-old photo app company allows users to add filters to their photos to give a vintage effect. According to Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom, the acquisition would not alter the Instagram experience. "The Instagram app will still be the same one you know and love,” he said.

The rise in temperatures had some meteorologists worried about global warming, with one comparing it to the weather equivalent of a baseball player and steroids, crushing old records. Jerry Meehl, a climate scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado, said, "Everybody has this uneasy feeling. This is weird. This is not good. It's a guilty pleasure. You're out enjoying this nice March weather, but you know it's not a good thing."

AUTISM HAS NOW BEEN LINKED TO MOTHER’S OBESITY!
According to a new U.S. survey released yesterday, obese mothers are more likely to have a child with autism or related developmental delays than mothers that are more physically fit. Although researchers said the study doesn't prove the one condition causes the other, they said the information should be enough to motivate mothers to keep fit. Paula Krakowiak, a researcher from University of California, Davis, who led the study, said, "If there is anything you can do to make yourself healthier, this is yet another reason for moms to consider." The study comes after a recent report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that estimated one in every 88 children in America has an autism spectrum disorder.

A woman in Indiana tried to relieve stress by squeezing some balls. Her ex-boyfriend’s balls, to be exact. Christina Reber, 43, was arrested Friday after attacking her 57-year-old ex and tearing his scrotum! The victim said Reber first hit him repeatedly in the head before latching onto his nether regions and “squeezing as hard as she could.” She really went nuts on him! The man finally broke free and called an ambulance. He says his scrotum is “so swollen he is unable to walk and is missing work.” Hear that? It’s the sound of men everywhere groaning in sympathetic pain.
HERO 13 YEAR OLD TAKES THE WHEEL AND SAVES CLASSMATES AFTER HIS BUS DRIVER PASSED OUT!
A 13-year-old boy in Milton, Washington is being called a hero after he grabbed the wheel of a school bus yesterday after the driver had a seizure. Jeremy Wuitschick was able to guide the bus to safety and turn off the ignition. His quick thinking may have saved his fellow students on the bus and the driver, who was rushed to the hospital. His name and his condition weren't released. Although he's already a hero, Jeremy wants to take his life-saving skills to the next level by taking a CPR course, saying, "When something major happens, I look back and see if there's something I could've done better."

The Easter Bunny nearly came in with a bang at an egg hunt in Britain over the weekend -- where one youngster looking for goodies came away with a live hand grenade. One eagle-eyed parent saw the three-year-old standing on the large, egg-shaped explosive device and hustled him and some nearby kids away for protection. When everyone was clear of the site, a bomb squad detonated the grenade, which dated back to World War II, when the U.S. had a military base nearby.

The mayor of one Spanish town has proposed legislation that he hopes will help the cause of gas conservation -- by making it illegal for his constituents to pass it. Julian Atienza Garcia drew up what he calls a "courtesy charter," which would make it illegal to belch or break wind in public, criminalize nose picking and sneezing without covering your mouth and mandate a "please" and "thank you" when dealing with the public. Most of the residents of La Toba like the proposal, although one critic said his next step would be to "insert microchips in everyone's brain to control them."

Pedicures ... they're not just for women anymore? Last week, Tim Tebow was photographed at an L.A. salon, where he got a pedicure. And, The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Dwyane Wade gets "sports pedicures," which is a no-frills treatment for men and women who don't want to mess with rose petal baths and peppermint lotion. The argument is that guys who play sports and have an active lifestyle might actually need pedicures -- not as a luxury, but instead about keeping their feet healthy.

Khloe Kardhashian's hubby just got slam-dunked by the NBA team that's been signing his paychecks. Lamar Odom was placed on the "inactive" list by the NBA champion Dallas Mavericks -- which means he still technically has a job, but will not play again this season. Odom issued a statement saying, "[We] have mutually agreed that it's in the best interest of both parties for me to step away from the team." A source tells Radar Online the move has been brewing for a while, saying Lamar "has been depressed and moody ever since [being traded to Dallas]. On a related note, new Kardashian victim Kanye West has agreed to appear on the next season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. A pal says, "Kanye is head over heels in love with Kim, and he has told her he would love to appear on the reality show if she wants him to."

THE NFL CHOSE TO UPHOLD THE SAINTS APPEALS…
The NFL took four days to mull over appeals filed by New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton, general manger Mickey Loomis and assistant coach Joe Vitt and on Monday ruled that all the penalties placed upon them in the bounty program scandal will stand. Payton’s one-year suspension will begin on April 16 and end after the Super Bowl, and Loomis’ eight-game suspension and Vitt’s six-game ban will begin after the preseason.

Alec Baldwin found himself on the other side of a police action in New York this week, when a woman accused of stalking him was hauled in by cops. Genevieve Sabourin, who met the actor on a film set 10 years ago, traveled to the Big Apple to see him -- and has been barraging him with mail, phone calls and unexpected appearances at several of his residences. She tried to speak to him at a film screening last week, then popped up at his Manhattan apartment, where she was arrested. Police say her E-mails and voice messages were "of a disturbing nature."
IS KRISTEN WIIG REALLY GONNA LEAVE SNL?
Last week it was reported that Kristen Wiig, (as well as Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis) was leaving Saturday Night Live at the end of the season, but Wiig says that’s not necessarily true. While being interviewed by Alec Baldwin for his NPR podcast, Wiig said she still “doesn’t know” if she’ll be returning or not. "Everyone has to leave," she said. "I will say that when I do leave it’s not because I’m sick of it and not because I see something better or anything like that. It’s just that it’s time." And it certainly sounds like her decision isn’t an easy one to make. She said, “When I do leave, it will be the hardest thing…This is my seventh year and that’s my family. It’s my heart. It’s New York to me."
LILO MAY BE OFF THE HOOK WITH THE WHOLE “SHE PUSHED ME” DRAMA THIS WEEKEND…
Lindsay Lohan is getting some backup from strangers as she tries to prove she's not guilty of the battery charge brought by a California woman over the weekend. The woman, whose name hasn't been released, alleges that LiLo pushed and shoved her after she began talking to the actress's date at a West Hollywood hotel. Lindsay, on the other hand, says she was nowhere near the place. TMZ reports that hotel employees are backing that story. They say they never saw Lindz on the night of the alleged incident, nor did anyone mention an altercation of any sort that evening. Furthermore, Lindsay is telling friends there’s no way she started the fight inside the club because she didn’t even leave the house that night. Insiders tell the site Lindsay was home watching TV all evening. And it appears Lindsay has some people backing up her story. Several club employees tell TMZ they did not see Lindsay on the night in question. The alleged victim filed a police report claiming she was injured on her back and has bruises to prove it. The woman says Lindsay attacked her because she was talking to one of the actress’ friends. Police are reportedly investigating the incident.

The 2012 Lollapalooza lineup is scheduled to officially be announced tomorrow on the festival’s website, but a Brazilian website yesterday published a leaked list of acts slated to perform in Chicago’s Grant Park August 3-5 that includes headliners Black Sabbath, the Black Keys and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The reunited Black Sabbath had promised to play at least one U. S. concert after being forced to scrap plans for a full U.S. tour after guitarist Tony Iommi was diagnosed with lymphoma. The long list of eclectic acts reportedly inked to perform includes modern rockers Jack White, Florence + the Machine, The Shins, Block Party, the Afghan Whigs and At the Drive-In, just to name a few.

Axl Rose has chimed in on the idea of a reunion of Guns N' Roses' most successful lineup, either at this Saturday's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction or for a tour. "Not in this lifetime," said Rose as he was seen leaving the Chateau Marmont hotel in West Hollywood, California over the weekend with 25-year-old singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey. Rose is also busy denying reports that he and Del Ray are an item. Rose is expected to be in Cleveland this weekend when GNR are inducted into the Hall of Fame. The other members being enshrined are Slash, guitarist Izzy Stradlin, drummers Steven Adler and Matt Sorum, bassist Duff McKagan and keyboardist Dizzy Reed.

DAUGHTRY’S GETTING SUED BY HIS VERY OWN FORMER BAND MATES…
Three old bandmates are suing Chris Daughtry over royalties. Ryan Andrews, Scott Crawford and Mark Perry, who were in Daughtry's pre-American Idol band Absent Element, filed suit in North Carolina on Thursday. They say he defrauded them out of proceeds from four songs they co-wrote. Daughtry says on his website that he wrote the songs in question by himself.
OZZY & SHARON: SOLD!
Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have parted ways with their oceanfront home in Malibu, California. The selling price was $7.925 million. It had been listed at $8.795 million, down from last year's price of $10 million. Ozzy and Sharon bought the home in 2003 for $5.1 million and originally tried to sell it in 2006 for $14 million. It has 4,500 square feet spread over three floors with five bedrooms and five bathrooms. There's also a library, office and a roof deck.

Queen drummer Roger Taylor has said that the band plans on playing four shows with American Idol star Adam Lambert this summer. Taylor told Billboard that they are set to play two dates in July at London's Hammersmith Apollo as an "alternative for some of the people who had bought tickets" for Sonisphere and they also are planning a show with Elton John in Kiev. Taylor said,"We're really excited about it. Adam...of course he has this unbelievable range, like Freddie (Mercury) had range. Adam can really cover it. He's an extraordinary singer and a real talent. I feel he fits into our sort of theatricality."
