Rays Extend Winning Streak To Five

The Tampa Bay Rays (19-18) defeated the Chicago White Sox (8-28) 5-1 on Tuesday night at Tropicana Field. The win extended the Rays winning streak to a season-high five games.

The Rays got two in the second inning thanks to RBI hits from Harold Ramirez and Ben Rortvedt. Then in the third inning Randy Arozarena hit a two-run home run - his third homer in five days - to build a 4-0 lead. Isaac Paredes added a solo homer in the sixth to make it a 5-0 game.

Zach Eflin (2-4, 3.75) pitched seven innings in which he allowed six hits while striking out three and walking none. The only run he allowed was a solo homer from Paul DeJong in the top of the seventh inning. Phil Maton and Manuel Rodriguez combined to close the door on this game.

The Rays now will try to sweep the White Sox in the series finale on Wednesday night. Aaron Civale (2-2, 6.14) is scheduled to pitch for the Rays against Chris Flexen (1-3, 4.85) for Chicago.
