Taking place on Saturday, July 26th, this one-of-kind event brings together animal lovers from near and far to celebrate the special bond between human and "man's best friend." Like last year, WPCM 2014 will begin at the beautiful Harbor Park in the award winning community of Baldwin Park and will conclude with a glittering procession of lantern bearers to Fleet Peeples Dog Park.
Through the use of music, guest speakers, and readings, this event helps the attendees support one another as they come to terms with the reality of their loss. Our goal is to help pet-parents draw closure on their grief so they can hopefully open their hearts and homes to another pet in need.
Perhaps the most impressive element of the evening is the lantern floating ceremony. During this beautiful and very emotional ceremony, attendees inscribe personal messages on water lanterns to their companions before watching them float on to join hundreds of others.
